Live music and touring have been on lockdown and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is  something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we spoke with French industrial metal band, Schultz.

1. How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?

Franz : We’ve been working on promoting our new album Black Magic Party released the 01st May during the pandemic available everywhere on all streaming service and digital shop. 10 new crazy songs talking about rats, drugs, sex, spanking, cats, life, and lot of things !… If you are curious, then check It out ! We also released a new home made video called “Rats In The Sewers” a few days before. And last, we did all we had not got enough time to do on normal time for the band, like uploading albums on all digital store, working on official page for the band, answering interviews, trying to find concerts. We used all this time the best we can.

Guitarfox : We didn’t gave up, we kept going on !

2. Have you been working on new music?

Franz : The most important things actually is to promote Black Magic Party just released, so it’s too early to think about new music.

Guitarfox : I always write my ideas on my notebook, so we’ll see later for the next album. But please, listen to our new one first !

3. 5 albums that changed your life

Franz : No idea , I love too much different kind of music.

Guitarfox : Perdus Dans La Ville by French punk rock band Veines, because it was my first recording as a musician, Bourgeois Standard by the same band because it was my second one, Kanibal Café by Latex, the last record of another band I play in, Shot Of Pain by Schultz, because it was my first recording with Franz, a very good album, I assure you ! And Black Magic Party of course, a wonderful album I invite you to check out ! We are here to present you our new album, not to talk about others, right ?

4. 5 artists that influenced you as a musician.

Franz : Same answer…

Guitarfox : Usually I don’t answer to this question, because some people may think we are sh*t just because we like bands they don’t, without giving any listen to make their own opinion. That’s the way it goes generally with the true music fans. But me as an open minded person, I’m not into this or that. As a teenage metalhead who grew up, I can listen to, and eventually being influenced by any type of style, from classic to hardcore metal, whatever if it opens me the gates of the cosmic mysteries ! LOL

5. Your 5 favorite live albums

Franz : I’m not really fan of live albums, I prefer to go to concert and see by myself, so no answer.

Guitarfox : Live at the gates of hell by Borborygm, Live at the basement by Psychedelic Pizza, Live at your mom’s bedroom by Caca Blues, Live at the End of the Plate Earth by The Platist, and last but not least : Live in the toilets by Use Your Own. Don’t even look for these albums or bands, they don’t exist ! LOL

6. Life on the road; 5 of the craziest/funniest/scariest tour stories

Franz : Between drunk sound guy, shitty party, drunk member on stage, a very scariest and dirty hotel, bad food, Cant Choose, really…

Guitarfox : I don’t remember having seen you drunk on stage any time ! LOL

7. 5 favorite movies

Franz : Sorry for my answer but I don’t love watching movies so no idea… Can I choose porn movies ?

Guitarfox : Freaks by Tod Browning, Salò by Pasolini, La Grande Abuffata by Marco Ferreri, Cannibal Holocaust by Ruggero Deodato, and Seul Contre Tous by Gaspar Noé. Fortunately I’m a movie buff ! LOL

8. Best and worst advice you ever heard.

Franz : The best : Believe in yourself. The worst : Work with this label, they are incredible…

Guitarfox : Best : Why be blue, Let’s keep going by proto-punk band Suicide in the song of the same name. And worst : Kill Yourself by New York Hardcore band Stormtroopers Of Death, also from the song of the same name… Luckily I didn’t take it into account !

9. Strangest thing you ever autographed

Franz : A piece of dirty but not used toilet paper.

Guitarfox : I had no pen or paper, so I had to spit on the hand of the guy… And believe it or not, but he liked it !

10. If music was over today and you had to go into professional wrestling, what would your wrestling name be?

Franz : Beer Drinker or Iron dick I can’t choose… LOL

Guitarfox : Black Magic Partyman ! Oh ? it makes me think of the title of the new album of this french Industrial metal band, I do not remember the name…
