THEORY (Theory of a Deadman) are set to release their seventh studio album, Say Nothing to the music loving masses on January 31st. So, what can you expect from these Canadian hard rock heavyweights?

“Black Hole in your Heart” opens up with an infectious combination of drum beats and orchestral elements that grab your attention immediately. Sonically, there is a great energy about the song considering the lyrics deal with getting over someone. Wonderful song and perfect choice to open the album.

“History of Violence” is a darker track that really showcases the versatility of frontman, Tyler Connolly’s pipes. The track was released previously to bring about awareness of domestic violence .

The title track, “Say Nothing” is definitely a track to shine a spotlight on. Overall, the song has more of a mellow and laidback feel and not something you would normally expect from Theory of a Deadman. With that being said, I am really enjoying this side of the band.

“Ted Bundy” has a mysterious and almost creepy vibe that justifies the title. An absolutely amazing track layered with a number of instruments to give it a very lush and experimental feel. Ambitious is putting it lightly, and they knocked it out of the park. Easily, my favorite track on the album.

The album comes to a close with the extremely catchy and uplifting, “It’s All Good.” Super dreamy type of a feel and some unexpected and fun electronic elements added in. This song would translate very well in an all acoustic setting.

Say Nothing definitely speaks volumes about THEORY. The guys took some big chances and experimented with various types of instrumentation and it paid off big! They are not afraid to expand outside the normal confines of modern hard rock, and I applaud them for that. Killer, solid album.

Rating: 8/10 Stars.
