Hurricane Ian threatened to create havoc in regards to the October 3 Death Cab For Cutie concert. The show was originally scheduled for the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina, but was moved to the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek (long enough name for ya?). That amphitheater’s seating area is mainly covered, thus helping to keep most fans in attendance dry in case of rain. The lawn seating option was completely cut off for the event. The band opened with “I Don’t Know How I Survive” and the crowd erupted in a huge burst of energy and cheering! Lead vocalist Ben Gibbard quickly made reference to the venue change witha comment noting “I see all of you got the info on the venue change (laughs.)”

and played a lengthy set of consisting of 23 including songs from their newest album Asphalt Meadows. It was a high energy show from the guys and also included a pretty damn impressive light show. Even with the venue change and questionable seating changes due to moving it there, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the show.
