L.A Guns Cocked and Loaded is a gem album and a must have for any 80’s rock and metal fan. It peaked at #38 on the US Billboard top 200 charts after its release in 1989. For the 31st anniversary of the album, the band wanted to do something a bit special. Since COVID-19 has put a halt to touring and has made a big dent in the music industry, L.A. Guns (with the lineup of Phil Lewis, Tracii Guns, Ace Von Johnson, Johnny Martin, and Scotty Coogan) decided to perform a one of a kind ‘live’ show at Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, NV on November 28th, 2020. This show would then be streamed to fans all across the world in the comfort of their own homes!
The band performed their classic album in its entirety from top to bottom delivering all the songs the fans know and love like “Malaria”, “Rip and Tear” and “Never Enough.” They replaced “I’m Addicted” with “Speed” from their most recent release The Missing Peace. Despite it being a few decades past the band’s “hay day” L.A. Guns still sound amazing! It was so great to hear songs like “17 Crash” and “Give a Little” which haven’t been performed live in over 20 years!
The live album is raw, gritty, and encapsulates the true feel of sleaze rock! It opens with “Slap In The Face” and the energy from the fans just exponentially increases for the whole rest of the show! Whether you are a long time fan or a newbie who wants a taste of what the good ole days of Aqua Net and leather pants are about, I highly recommend you get yourself a copy of Cocked and Loaded: Live out July 9, 2021!
