Miss May I are back with their seventh studio album which dropped on 9/2 titled Curse of Existence (Sharptone Records) and like most bands recently, it came from within the depths of the Covid shutdown. They tackle the struggles of mental health that we all have unwillingly suffered with being isolated and limited to everyday life.

The metalcore legends bring the most melodic harmonies that really grab those heartstrings just to slap you in the face with a heavy breakdown. You’ll find yourself starting a mosh pit in your car or wherever you may be. But if you actually take the time to listen, you’ll hear that they not only have a great backing sound but their lyrics are meaningful and relatable to just about everyone.”Unconquered” being one of those songs on this album. It gives a perspective that most may not realize but I get chills when I listen to it.

So whatever your preference may be, meaningful lyrics or just straight up bone crunching riffs. This album has it all. Levi Benton (vocals) is one of the most powerful vocalists I’ve had the pleasure of seeing and whether he is on a stage or in your ear, he absolutely destroys with his harsh vocals. Accompanied by the cleans by Ryan Neff (bass, vocals), They are a force to be reckoned with.
