On the night of August 24th, 2024, Eastside Bowl in Nashville, was alive with heavy metal and fast-food madness as Mac Sabbath brought their 10 Year Anniversary Tour to town. With support from Tejon Street Corner Thieves and Spaceman Bob, the evening promised to be a wild celebration of music, satire, and theatrical spectacle. For fans of metal, and fast food-themed Black Sabbath, this show delivered in every way imaginable. Eastside Bowl, known for its retro charm, was perfect for this eclectic night. The venue is a mid-century bowling alley, coupled with an extended room filled with a bar and full production stage. It all felt tailor-made for a band as outlandish as Mac Sabbath. The entire stage transformed into a bizarre fast-food kingdom, as Mac Sabbath emerged from behind a curtain. The band—fronted by Ronald Osbourne, with Slayer MacCheeze on guitar, Grimalice on bass, and the Catburglar on drums—were quarter-pounding out hits and served up a full decade of heavy metal satire. Dressed in their familiar costumes—grotesque parodies of fast-food mascots—the band launched into fan favorites like “Frying Pan” (a riff on Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man”) and “Chicken for the Slaves” (a take on “Children of the Grave”). Mac Sabbath introduced us to Drive-Thru Metal and on this night, they proved it’s here to stay.
