Pacific Northwest melodic extreme-metal powerhouse VINTERSEA has officially announced their new singer, Kayla Dixon! A vocal virtuoso and trained voice/screen actor, Dixon’s phenomenal talent precedes her as most are already familiar with her as the inimitable songstress for revered doom metal band Witch Mountain and Dress The Dead.
With Dixon’s arrival, VINTERSEA’s thrilling next chapter begins, and fans won’t have to wait long to hear what’s to come. On October 15th, the band will release their first new single, “Celestial Abscission,” with Dixon helming vocal duties.
Bassist Karl Whinnery says of the lineup change and single:
“Kayla joining is incredible. We didn’t lose a step and when playing our set – I find myself just shocked at how much power she brings. Kayla brings fresh energy and techniques that take songs like Befallen and Lonesome Tide to completely new places. Our new material with Kayla is outstanding. Our first track, “Celestial Abscission”, is new VINTERSEA in the vein of songs like “Devil’s Churn”. You’ll hear what new dimensions and uniqueness that Kayla brings, alongside her raw power.
