Nashville, TN – On January 27th, at The OG Basement Eric Cannata, songwriter and member of the band Young The Giant released his new solo album titled Holding Onto the Holy. The night kicked off with a stunning performance from Hannah Connolly, whose ethereal voice and heartfelt songwriting always leaves the crowd enchanted. (I still have her album Shadowboxing on my record player.) Connolly teased us with some new material from a 4th studio album currently being worked on and we were even graced with a few duo songs, one entitled “Over and Over” which can be heard on Eric‘s the new album. These two newlyweds tested the limits of how much harmony and dynamics The Basement could hold. When Cannata took to the stage, you could tell he and his band were ready to go. Armed with an infectious smile and filthy guitar tone, Eric put the audience in the palm of his hand. There was an energetic rock feel at times, as well a pulled back pop vibe that paired beautifully with his voice and stage presence. As a Young The Giant fan it was an honor to be able to see Eric Cannata in such an intimate venue and share songs with us and his new wife. Enjoy these photos taken by Kris Cagle of the show:
