Sitting On Saturn opened up for 311 on their stop in Raleigh, NC at the beautiful Red Hat Amphitheater on June 25. I always tell our photographers to show up early for every show and give the openers the same respect and attention that you give to the headliners. That applies even if you are not familiar with the openers because you never know when you’ll be surprised, in a good way. I’ll admit that I was not familiar with the band going into the show, but it didn’t take long for their infectious fun to win us all over. These three guys know that they have a great opportunity in opening up for 311, even if that means that some of the crowd are just filing in when they hit the stage. They are there to make an impression on people who don’t know (they did have fans there as well) them and to spread their music to the masses. I would have to say it was a successful mission that night. Their sound is part punk, part ska, part rock, but all fun. Fun fact: Joe Jonas discovered them on Tik Tok and was impressed so much that he offered them a deal on Republic Records and an opening slot on the Jonas Brothers’ 2021 tour. Give their latest album Looking Past Red Flags a chance if you’re into
