Live music and touring are on lockdown right now and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is  something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we spoke with Jymmy Tolland of The Lonely Ones.

How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?

Starting a new band is a very detail oriented process that can take a VERY long time. Thankfully because of that, I’ve had mountains of work to keep me busy through the quarantine. I’m definitely glad it seems to be easing up though.

Have you  been working on new music?

We’ve got a record in the can right now and are kicking around some song ideas for #2. I can’t wait to share everything we’ve been busting our ass on!

What are five albums that changed your life?

  • Sticky Fingers- The Rolling Stones
  • Rocks – Aerosmith
  • My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – Kanye West
  • Once More Round The Sun – Mastodon
  • Piss Poor – Feverwar

Name five artists that have influenced you as a musician.

  • John Entwhistle
  • Angus Young
  • Keith Richards
  • Slash
  • Nick Perri

What are your five favorite live albums?

OOoh I like this question. People don’t talk about live albums enough

  1. Thin Lizzy – Live & Dangerous
  2. The Rolling Stones -Get Yer Ya-Yas out
  3. Muse- HAARP
  4. Allman Brothers Band – At Fillmore East
  5. Woodstock

Life on the road; what are five of your craziest/funniest/scariest tour stories?

I’ve had vehicles blow up, chased down thieves, slept on the berm on the interstate  and much worse. Ask me in person cause I can’t do the stories justice via text.

What are your five favorite movies?

  • Django: Unchained
  • The Godfather
  • Babadook
  • The Warriors
  • Futurama: Bender’s Big Score

What’s the best and worst advice you ever heard?

Best: It wasn’t words. At 15 I got knocked out by my best friend for acting like an asshole to him. I dared him to hit me and was surprised when he did.  Don’t act a certain way unless you’re willing to be treated that way.

Worst Advice : “Tuck your jeans into your boots. IT looks cool, I swear.”

Strangest thing you ever autographed

A baby’s forehead.

If music was over today and you had to go into professional wrestling, what would your wrestling name be?
