The 3rd annual Power & Sound Revival was on May 19 & 20 in Elon, North Carolina. There were a lot of artists performing over the two day event and, I will admit, there were a few that I will admit to knowing nothing about. Ace Monroe was one that intrigued me when I found out that they were out of Nashville. That was a pretty good distance for them to travel, so I knew I had to check these guys out. The sun was shining and it was on the verge of being very hot when they took the stage at 2:00pm. They had me hooked before the first song was over! These guys were great! A five piece band with excellent musicianship and stage presence, catchy songs, great hooks and a frontman who can sing and command a stage. I remember thinking, “Why am I just now hearing about this band??!!” Their hour long set was an almost non-stop rapid fire attack of song after song. They even worked a drum and guitar solos in! Wow! They packed a lot into a 60 minute set! They have one album so far entitled Shelter in Place and a new single called “Summer Heat” and a video for it (HERE) that was just released. I highly suggest that you check these guys out and I am pretty sure that you’ll get hooked at well.
