Metalcore band, Alaya’s Curse, premiered their powerful new single, “Crimson,” featuring Dustin Jamal Mitchell of Filth, through Ghost Killer Entertainment on July 25. The track follows behind the band’s previous 2024 release, “Fade.”
| “”Crimson” is this song I’ve been working on for a while. It’s a deeply personal one that is the start of a set of songs that tell story not only lyrically, but musically as well. The title “Crimson” metaphorically encompasses the songs topics which is love, betrayal, anger, sacrifice, redemption and sort of the metamorphosis you go through we experience those emotions.” Says the band regarding the new single. “Dustin‘s feature on the track adds to heaviness of the song to contrast the more melodic vocals, his parts were specifically chosen because the lyrics fit him very well, and the tone of his vocals fit what I was going for in terms of heaviness. That’s all before the fact that he’s one of my favorite death vocalist.” |
| About Alaya’s Curse: Originally formed as a studio passion project in 2013, this Greensboro-based metalcore band has evolved into a full-fledged live act in the heavy music scene. Initially, the project was more of an outlet for creativity than a serious band, with the group playing only a few select shows. However, after years of refining their sound and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band reformed due to life changing events and a story to tell. Drawing inspiration from metalcore bands like Architects, The Plot In You, Falling In Reverse, and August Burns Red, and blending it with a touch of pop and progressive elements, Alaya’s Curse found a unique style that combines crushing breakdowns with haunting melodies, tribal gutturals and ghostly clean vocals. The band’s goals is to write music that has people emotionally and brings something that people can relate to on a personal level. Currently, the band is working on multiple new releases, Alaya’s Curse is actively playing shows. |
