Hailing from Canada, BRKN LOVE are a highly energetic rock and roll outfit that are on a mission to bring the music world a new hybrid of rock and roll music. Quoting singer/guitarist Justin Beniolo on the band’s namesake,“You can honestly be a hopeless romantic and play tough music. Most of the lyrics deal with love and loss. That’s the vibe. You can share your feelings and still rock your face off at the end of the day. It’s what I’m going to do.”

Getting things started is the highly infectious, “I Can’t Lie.” The track has great energy and a solid groove that will get your body moving instantly. Great way to open things up and leave you wanting more.

“I See Red” instantly became a track that I had to blast on repeat quite a number of times. The rhythm section brings some serious funk and Justin (Beniolo) slithers in with that bluesy, sleaze tinged voice. The song also has one of the best lines in “Everybody’s black and blue, I see red, I see red, when I see you!”

The album’s first single, “Shot Down” was definitely the perfect choice to showcase what the band is all about. Huge monster riffs and thundering drums makes this feel like a true straight ahead rock track that is ready to climb up the radio charts..

“Flies in the Honey” lays that bottom end groove on thick and that guitar work is so hypnotic with those sludgy riffs and sinister leads and runs.

BRKN LOVE throws a bit of a curveball with the track “Papercuts.” This one has more of a modern rock feel with the higher-toned vocals and overall bouncy feel. This one will most definitely be a crowd favorite with everyone jumping up and down.

“Oxygen” is a stand out track that needs immediate airplay. It is beautiful and dripping with raw emotion. The lyrics are equally as strong as the music. “It’s like I’m holding my breath ‘til I see you again, I need you like oxygen,” I’m just going to call it now and say this is my personal favorite of all tracks on the album.

“In Your Hands” is a bit of a slow burner, but in the end, it is a glorious tune that pays homage and takes influence from bands like Collective Soul, Smashing Pumpkins, and even hints of Candlebox.

“Stay Here” is the last of twelve tracks and brings the album to a very fitting and satisfying close. Everything this band is about is represented in this track. Great up-tempo track that will get your heart beating and feet stomping for sure.

BRKN LOVE has released an incredible album of killer rock and roll that stands by their mission. To make music that is not only tough and gritty, but honest and heartfelt. With a debut album like this, it is very easy to see that this band will make a name for themselves if the keep cranking out material like this. If you are a fan of great rock and roll music, then I highly suggest that you grab yourself a copy of BRKN LOVE just as soon as you can!
