Buckcherry  are set to release their ninth studio album Hellbound on June 25th via Round Hill Records. The ten-track LP was produced by Marti Frederiksen, who had previously produced fourth album Black Butterfly, and helped co-write this release with frontman Josh Todd and guitarist Stevie D. The album was recorded in Nashville in November 2020.

Hellbound is another raucous rollercoaster of dirty rock ‘n’ roll with plenty of attitude. “54321” begins with a female voice counting backwards, before Todd screams “54321.” This is a fun track with a boogie rock style. Next up is “So Hott”, the group’s first single off the album, This groove-orientated song sees Todd salivate over scintillating solos . The LP continues to amble along with anthemic- party songs from a band that has been doing this for twenty plus years.

The album can feel like it is moving towards the commercial route, but then takes another direction. ”No More Lies” is a slow tempo ballad with funky undertones. The track is reminiscent of a modern day Aerosmith. “Here I Come” lights the fuse with venom and energy, as Todd has a point to prove. The adrenaline-soaked “Junk” is easily the standout track with a heavier guitar edge compared to some of the lighter ones here.

The LP begins to feel like one track blended into another, but the sweet melodies of “Barricade” salvages things to keep those heartstrings well and truly tugged.

Overall, Buckcherry show no signs of slowing down as they remain Hellbound with their style of ballsy, raw and in-your-face rock.
