Windy City alternative rockers, Conway are set to drop their brand-new album, Something Wicked on April 10, 2020 through Pavement Entertainment.

Reading through their press release, these boys have been described as an interesting mix of Green Day and Arctic Monkeys with a side of electronic tinged metal like Rob Zombie. Well, that certainly peaked my interest!

Opening the album is “Missed Me” which is a catchy infectious rocker with lots of energy and a chorus that will easily get embedded in your brain.

The band turns it up on the aggressive follow up track, “Six Feet OF Dirt Would Look Great On You, Love.” Overall, the song has a really cool punk influence with those down strummed guitars and venomous bite in the lyrics. This one will be a great one to witness live in concert.

Slowing things down a little is “High Note.” Distorted guitars and bouncy rhythm section really make this moody mid-tempo number quite enjoyable.

“One More Shot” is definitely a standout track due in large part to the bombastic chorus. Even bigger is the frantic fretwork and precision tight drum work.

Elsewhere on the album, “Blasphemy” is another cool track that leans on the heavier side with raspy vocals and stellar guitar work. Clocking in just a little over 2:30, “Blasphemy” is a octane fueled adrenaline rush!

Closing the album is “Surprise Me.” Beautiful and dreamy intro which lead me to believe that this was going to be more of a ballad. Once the clock hits 0:34, the song becomes more of an emotionally charged and heartfelt rocker.

All in all, Something Wicked is a solid album with a handful of tracks that could easily be hits on modern alternative radio airwaves. I see a bright, bright future for the fellas in Conway if they keep pumping out music like this.

Rating: 8/10 Stars.
