Get ready for the new hard-hitting Diamante album titled American Dream out May 7, 2021! This queen surely knows how to put you in the summer spirit with her fun and uplifting tunes! Diamante may be young at only 24 years old, but she is no stranger to the rock scene, as she spent her teenage years learning the ropes and playing shows on the Sunset Strip. In 2018 she came in hot (no pun intended) and stormed the charts with her album Coming In Hot on Better Noise Music. She teamed up with superstar producer Howard Benson [My Chemical Romance, Halestorm, Kelly Clarkson] and created a masterpiece of an alternative rock album. Her singles “Hear Me Now” and “Haunted” peaked on rock radio as number #1 and #15.
After parting ways with Better Noise Music she has decided to release her sophomore album independently working with Howard Benson and Neil Sanderson (Judge & Jury). According to Diamante, American Dream has been an amazing change compared to her last album, stating “Every word on this album is my personal diary screaming in your face. This album has no limitations, restrictions, or filter, really.” Featuring 11 tracks this album encapsulates a truly gritty rock’n’ roll vibe.
“American Dream”- This song radiates high energy concerts and I can not wait for live music to come back! Switching between isolated vocals with a click track and an arena rock sound surely gives this tune an intimate nostalgic feel just in time for hot summer nights. Accenting a crunchy guitar riff and pounding drums on the chorus this song truly is the “American Dream” song to be blasted at music festivals.
“Ghost Myself”- Sporting a raw intense music video, this single is blowing up! As Diamante said, “it’s a song about being at war with myself. I knew there would be no better way to show this internal battle than through an underground fight club scene between me, myself, and I.” The internal battle of not feeling good enough is something that almost everyone can relate to, and this song can be viewed as a “empowerment tune” for so many people to keep on fighting for what they want in life. This chorus is very captivating, and I would love to see this song played live!
“Hopeless”- Undoubtedly one of my favorite tunes! Sounding like an 80’s power ballad with a new sonic twist, it features Diamante’s beautiful raw vocals. The song begins acoustically but as it continues it progresses into a fierce emotional song about being hopelessly in love with someone (who at times may not be the best for them). Diamante’s hauntingly strong vocals cut through the driving force instrumentals to touch everyone right in the heart.
“Obvious”- This is a very relatable track to anyone that has ever been through relationship struggles of not being “enough” for the other person. In the best way possible I feel as if lyrically this is the “Driver’s License” of rock music. With the empowering bass-heavy instrumentals Diamante’s rich vocals really makes the listener feel the emotions of being devoted to someone but the other person has already moved on with their life and found someone new. I should mention that Obvious is also featured as an acoustic track which is so beautifully done.
“I Love Myself For Hating You”- I totally adore the vibes coming off of this song! Diamante pulls through with a Joan Jett type appeal featuring raspy screams and upbeat and uplifting instrumentals. I should add that there is a totally awesome guitar solo as well. I can thoroughly envision a bunch of people jumping around a venue screaming the lyrics to this tune!
I am going to be completely honest when I say that I wholeheartedly loved every single song off of American Dream. I am sure that everyone can find a song to relate to and connect with lyrically, as stated before that there was no holding back on this album. I truly can not wait for the world to hear this masterpiece.
