Kickstand Jenny’s new album, Between The Lies, is about as rock-n- roll as you can get with high energy riffs, uncomplicated melodies and heavy beats that make this an album you want in your rotation. Each listen grabs you harder.

Loaded with 10 songs of substance, this concept album with themes of death and rebirth takes take the listener on a musical journey through life-defining experiences and powerful emotions. The songs are filled with longing, happiness and reflection with the music and lyrics co-mingling to deliver songs that produce visceral responses from our own personal experiences with love, life, beginnings and endings. And isn’t that what great music delivers – connection?

Combining their collective influences this album boasts heavy rock on “Take It or Leave It” with a rich and dark guitar intro and heavy drums that have you playing along in the air while dancing with your head. And the rock intensity doesn’t stop there, offering a fast-paced drum intro on “Tonight” that gives nod to early 2000s alternative rock and the Mark Slaughter-led, “Solo,” a true rock ballad with piercing vocals that transports you back to a time when you sat in the car waiting for songs of this caliber to play on your favorite rock radio station.

The album is a riveting listen – I recommend putting on headphones and getting lost in every song to appreciate the spectrum of their talent. Try the powerful “Standing In The Doorway,” or the catchy melody of “Take Me Back To The Time,”– songs that will sit in your head and demand repeated play. Recorded in Nashville, Between The Lies was produced by the award-winning Chas Sandford, known for his award-winning work with powerhouses like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tina Turner and Stevie Nicks.

Formed in 2015 and only recently welcoming lead singer Scott Foster Harris, this quartet from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida delivers a sound that is tight with a mastery you hear from rock bands that have toured together for decades. It is no wonder they have shared the stage with heavyweights like Slaughter, Living Colour, Sebastian Bach, L.A. Guns and LIT. Kickstand Jenny features Preston Morelock on guitar, Scott Foster Harris (formerly of L.A. Guns) on vocals, AJ Sipos on drums and Chris Mcomos on bass. The album dropped June 9 on Spectra Records.

Kickstand Jenny should be proud of keeping good rock alive with Between The Lies. It’s an album full of great guitar licks, strong vocals and relatable lyrics that shake the speakers and the soul.
