Killswitch Engage is back with a vengeance for their ninth full-length album This Consequence via Metal Blade Records. The band formed in Western Massachusetts in 2000 and took the metal world by storm. Adam Dutkiewicz [guitar], Joel Stroetzel [guitar], Mike D’Antonio [bass], Justin Foley [drums], and Jesse Leach [vocals] have created a powerfully rageful album filled with heavy riffs and sharp lyrics.
The opening song, “Abandon Us,” sets the furious tone of the album. The ferocious guitar riffs combined with Jesse’s incredible metal screams and soaring, soulful choruses prove why this is one of the best metal bands.
Killswitch has always done such an amazing job at creating epic choruses in their songs and “Aftermath” is a perfect example. The heaviness of the song mixed with a powerful chorus makes this one of the standouts on the album.
The track “The Fall of Us” is unrelenting with high energy, and intricate guitar riffs. This song is metal at its finest.
Jesse’s incredible vocal range combined with hard-hitting drums and bass make “Broken Glass” another highlight on the album.
Killswitch Engage has created another metal masterpiece that will stand the test of time. This Consequence is an intense emotional rollercoaster full of epic metal rage, a testament to the dark times of the world, and Killswitch will have everyone singing and moshing through it.
