Revolution Saints are gearing up to release their third studio album, Rise through Frontiers Records SRL. The release date is January 24, 2020, and I can without a doubt tell you that it is worth the wait.

For those of you who may not know, Revolution Saints is a supergroup of sorts with some of melodic rock’s greatest players as its members. Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees), Deen Castronovo (Journey, Hardline) and Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Burning Rain) round out this killer power trio.

Together, they bring the best elements of those bands to make music that stands out on its own. Rise is most definitely no exception. Huge, soaring choruses, solid hard hitting groove, monster riffs, and solos, and top notch songwriting are what makes this band a cut above the rest.

Opening with the official first single, “When The Heartache Is Gone”, Revolution Saints effortlessly make their presence known and felt. That opening riff just tears everything wide open for those gorgeous melodic vocals and segue into the larger than life sing along chorus. An all-around amazing and uplifting song that could easily serve as the soundtrack for the new year ahead.

“Price We Pay” is just more of the same classic rock genius that this band represents. Deen (Castronovo) not only keeps that precision timing on lock with the drums, but his vocal contributions are what stand high above it all. When you add the guitar wizardry of Doug Aldrich, and songwriting skills of Jack Blades, the end results are just pure unadulterated aural magic.

The title track, “Rise” turns up the heat and gets the blood flowing. Track has off the chart energy and will get any crowd on their feet and pumping their fists.

“Closer” is our first glimpse into something leaning into ballad territory. It has a gorgeous piano opening and the harmonies are second to none. Obviously with Deen in the band, you can really feel the strong Journey elements that influenced this song.

“Higher” opens up huge with those thunderous drums and driving guitars. The overall feel is that of a solid mid-tempo rocker with no shortage of groove. Guitarist Doug Aldrich really shines on this track with those lightning fast leads and that incredible solo.

“Talk To Me” is another outstanding mid-tempo track with more of a moody edge. It features outstanding guest vocals from an artist by the name of Lunakaire. She really adds depth and warmth that compliment her male counterparts in the song.

Closing out the album is the tender ballad, “Eyes of a Child.” Gentle piano and acoustic guitar provide the perfect canvas for emotional and heartfelt lyrics to paint the perfect musical masterpiece and end the album on more of a quiet whisper, which can speak just as many volumes as going out with a bang.

The team of Castronovo, Blades, and Aldrich have done it once again. They have created and are about to release a modern melodic rock masterpiece. Anyone who is fan of these guys and their many other bands, should without questions pick up this album when it drops on January 24th. May I also suggest picking up the previous two releases and get yourself acquainted with the Saints.

Rating: 9/10 Stars.
