The Swedish rock group The Gems’ debut album Phoenix will be released on January 26 via Napalm Records. The band consists of former Thundermother members, Guernica Mancini (singer), Emlee Johansson (drummer), and Mona “Demona” Lindgren (guitarist/bassist), and their debut rocks the house.

The track “Queens” is a female empowerment rock anthem. The catchy, high-energy chorus, “Queens, stick together. Queens, always and forever. Queens, we salute the warriors that paved the way for us,” will have everyone singing along. Mancini’s powerful, gritty singing is captivating and displays her vocal range.

“Domino” is another highlight on the album with its 80’s rock vibe. This rowdy, high-octane hit is rock at its finest with Lindgren’s driving guitar riffs.

The stand-out track “Running” showcases the band’s excellent musicianship and songwriting skills. Lindgren’s guitar skills combined with Johansson’s booming drums and Mancini’s commanding vocals make this another hit.

“P.S.Y.C.H.O” is a wild track that is reminiscent of the 80’s L.A. Sunset Strip nights with lightning-fast guitar riffs. The catchy, chorus is guaranteed to stick in your head long after listening.

The Gems came here to rock and made an album that music fans, especially rock fans, will love. Phoenix is an impressive debut and the band’s career will be a fun one to listen to.
