Anvil released their 20th, yup you heard that right, 20th album ‘One And Only’ on June 28, 2024 via AFM Records. This band with well over 40 years together are still out there. They’re still touring, still making music, and still keeping up with all of their crazy antics. We were excited to catch Anvil on July 23, 2024 when they rolled into The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop in Raleigh, NC. And what a great show it was! Local openers Axial Flow along with tourmates, Pulsifier got the crowd all warmed up, but everyone was waiting with anticipation for Anvil to hit the stage at last.

When the band came out, they dove right into “March of the Crabs.” This included of course vocalist and guitarist Steve “Lips” Kudlow marching into the crowd. Because this band brings the music straight to you, no matter where you are. Anvil played a full 15-song set, almost 2 hours on stage that night not just playing but also a little bit of on stage antics. The fans were not just singing along, but chanting for their favorite songs. I loved that the crowd was actually a pretty diverse group with all ages of fans, new and old fans alike were all enjoying the show.

Anvil has a few more dates in the U.S. in August then will be headed to Europe for a run of dates starting in October.
