Artist Spotlight is a segment that we started to introduce our listeners to some deserving up and coming artists/ bands. They have made an impact on us for all of the right reasons. We think they kick ass and we hope you do too! Today, we’d like to shine the spotlight on Diggy Kat!
Diggy Kat is a cat, coffee and orange lovin’ time traveling Gemini who is the mastermind behind Vufcup and creator of The Stream Team, as well as co-founder of Lucky Star Radio. He is currently producing albums by both Lucky Lamond and Aila Fay and co-produced Ariel Carreno’s debut.
hint: he may be the one that does not have rabies.
Some people know it’s when they hear a classic album or see someone perform. Do you know when you were bitten by the music bug and knew this was your path?
It was shortly before my 7th birthday, I was walking around the big tree in our front yard, singing to myself and thought “This is it!” , so i started writing songs and singing, gifted a guitar for my 8th birthday and a drumset for my 9th birthday.
Do you write when inspiration hits or do you sit down with the purpose of writing? Maybe both?
When I write by myself, usually only when inspiration hits. But if I’m collaborating with say,someone from The Stream Team , we sit down with the purpose of writing.
Growing up, were you the class clown or the ham wanting to be the center of attention? Maybe you were the shy introvert?
I was the popular one that always initiated spontaneous fun experiences!
If you could pick any musician (dead or alive) to sit down with and have a drink and chat, who would it be?
Hmmmm, this answer will change every time. Today, I’ll say Son House.
