HeyBobby! is a theatrical rock duo featuring Gina Del Vecchio and Bobby Peek whose debut album, The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla, introduces a bold new voice in rock ’n’ roll storytelling. Blending cinematic rock, richly layered songwriting, and immersive world-building, HeyBobby! creates music that feels as expansive as it is intimate, a place where character, emotion, and narrative collide.

Their creative ethos is rooted in human expression: real instruments, real voices, real emotion. While the project fully embraces cutting-edge tools and future-facing ideas including artistic artificial intelligence, while leaving an opening to also incorporates traditional, human-crafted visual and creative contributions wherever they serve the story best. The result is a hybrid art form where technology and human imagination coexist to bring characters and worlds to life.

That world comes fully into focus in The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla, a 12-track rock opera arriving March 2026. The album follows the rise and unraveling of Otilla Vanilla, a young singer searching for meaning, connection, and identity in an industry built on dreams. When she captures the attention of Vivienne St. Clair, known as “Big Shooter”, she’s a magnetic yet possibly dangerous music promoter, Otilla is thrust into a glamorous world that blurs the line between empowerment and exploitation. The question becomes: what will she sacrifice to be seen?

Each track is paired with a visual episode featuring a blend of AI-driven imagery and traditional artistic design, expanding the narrative into a complete multimedia experience. HeyBobby! invites listeners not just to hear a record, but to step inside a fully realized universe where rock and theater merge.

We sat down with the duo for a short, but fun Q&A session.

Can you tell us about your upcoming debut album release The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla?

HeyBobby! – It is a 12-song musical chronicling Otilla’s journey from a harrowing beginning to the top of the music business where she ultimately finds that her beloved is much more important than superstardom.

The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla” is not just an album, it’s a journey that tells a story from start to finish. Can you share the inspiration for the album?

HeyBobby! – We wanted to represent modern-day heroes who fight through terrible childhoods, unscrupulous predators and life circumstances, to achieve the ultimate victory of autonomy and personal choice.

The album follows the rise and unraveling of Otilla Vanilla. Can you share with us what inspired this character and her journey?

HeyBobby! – Knowing a person who has battled these circumstances and emerged victorious. It’s inspirational. The world needs inspiration.

We understand that HeyBobby! is collective of artists and musicians. How did it come to be, instead of forming a more traditional band?

HeyBobby! – HeyBobby! is a duo, Gina Del Vecchio and Bobby Peek, and we work with two producers with access to great musicians and a great studio. We’re the 2026 answer to The Eurythmics

Working as a collective, how did that collaborative structure shape the sound, characters, and emotional arc of The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla?

The structure: Bobby wrote the material in its first form. All songs were written specifically for Gina’s voice. Gina then reviewed and made suggestions/and or alterations. Musicians Edmond Clare and Georgann Ireland then took Bobby’s home demos and brought in the musicians who could pull off their vision of the final product and, with Gina, produced the album.

The project intentionally blends real instruments and human performance with AI-driven visual and creative tools. What made you decide to embrace AI technology to enhance the story?

HeyBobby! – AI is very exciting and through the interchange between it and humans, produces ways of thinking and seeing things vastly differently than the way humans think and see. The combination of live musicians and singers with AI videos is a big part of the future and we are going to be a part of that.

Each song exists as part of a larger rock opera with accompanying visual episodes. How do you hope listeners engage with the project, track by track, as a complete narrative, or as an immersive world and what do you ultimately want them to question about ambition, identity, and sacrifice once the story ends?

HeyBobby – To the first question, we hope listeners engage at all levels – track by track, the complete narrative, the videos themselves and ultimately live on the stage or on the big screen. To the second question, we want listeners to feel that whoever and whatever they are, that they are worthy of the life of their dreams.
