Artist Spotlight ~Novacrow

Artist Spotlight is a segment that we started to introduce our readers to some deserving up and coming artists/bands. They have made an impact on us for all of the right reasons. We think they kick ass, and we hope you do too! Today we’d like to shine the spotlight on Liverpool, England rockers Novacrow!

Formed in late 2013, dark and delicious alternative metal band from Liverpool, England. Novacrow is formed of Kitty Staunton on lead vocals and guitar, Federico ‘Freddy’ Spera on bass and backing vocals, and Jonyx on guitars and backing vocals. Infamous for their extremely high energy live sets, Novacrow deliver wild stage shows, filthy riffs, and soaring vocals.

We sat down with the band for a short, but fun Q&A session!

Every superhero or villain has an origin and a band is no different minus the radioactive spiders and secret government experiments. What is the origin of Novacrow?

Novacrow: Bold of you to assume our origin story didn’t involve radioactive spiders and secret government experiments. In our case, it actually involved radioactive governments and a secret spider experiment, so go figure.

Band names can have a meaning or it can be a name pulled out of a hat. What’s the story behind Novacrow?

Novacrow: You almost described it perfectly with the second one, we actually DID pull it out of a hat except the hat was a dictionary!

What are you currently working on?

Novacrow: We just released our newest Christmas single called “The Krampus, The Krampus” which everyone should immediately check out! Otherwise, we got our first show of the year lined up to support our friends at Evil Scarecrow in Grimsby on the 4^th of January and after that we’ll probably focus on writing new material with the odd show scattered here and there.

You’re on the road and stop at a convenience store for a “pit stop.” What is your favorite snack to pick up?

Novacrow: YOU’RE our favourite snack, dear reader 😉

We love cereal, especially at night. For some odd reason, it seems to taste better then. Do you have a favorite cereal?

Novacrow: Kitty will eat anything that’s vegan and gluten free. Freddy’s favorite is chocolate shells, there’s something about the silky smooth texture they get when eaten with milk that’s soooo satisfying. And Jonyx likes to eat his cereal with warm, microwaved milk so his opinion on the matter means absolutely nothing because that’s revolting.
