Artist Spotlight is a segment that we started to introduce our listeners to some deserving up and coming artists/bands that have made an impact on us for all of the right reasons. We think they kick ass and we hope you do too! Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sons of Silver!
Sons Of Silver is an American, indie-rock band from Los Angeles. The group quietly attracted an impassioned fan base, worldwide, under the previous name, Pete RG. Following a pair of EPs—Lightning Strikes [2016], and Reaching for the Moon [2016]—2017’s Tender Souls album garnered critical acclaim and looks from the likes of Impose, Blank TV, and Elmore Magazine. The group toured extensively across North America playing major markets like Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and New York. They also crossed the Atlantic, hitting London, Paris and Berlin, among others. After two years on the road, the sound evolved, as did the identity. What began as a solo artist evolved into a band.
I recently sat down with Sons of Silver frontman Peter Argyropoulos to learn a little more about the band!
Every super hero or villain has an origin and so does a band minus the radioactive spiders and government experiments……..well, sometimes. This band has the original Pearl Jam drummer, a member of Candlebox, a former Skillet guitarist ex-member, esteemed keyboardist and vocalist Brina Kabler and the rich vocals of Pete RG. That’s an eclectic mix that come together to form Sons of Silver. So, what is the origin of Son of Silver?
Sons Of Silver is the natural evolution of Pete RG from singer-songwriter with back-up band to full-fledged band. Same nefarious characters.
Some may not know this, but you previously toured and recorded as Pete RG. Why thename change?
Pete RG began as a project playing songs that I wrote. My songwriting style and musical tastes defined the direction. Our time on the road and in the studio brought us closer as musicians and as friends. Naturally, we began to write together and, in doing so, our sound changed. So, it made sense to change our name.

Lots!

Name a movie, any kind of movie, that you always wished you could have been in.
Star Wars. Any one of them, as long I could take a few rides in the Millennium Falcon. I’m not even much of a Star Wars fan!
