Artist Spotlight is a segment that we started to introduce our listeners to some deserving up and coming artists/ bands. They have made an impact on us for all of the right reasons. We think they kick ass and we hope you do too! Today, we’d like to shine the spotlight on Ukraine glam/heavy metal band Star Crystal!
Star Crystal is a glam/heavy metal band formed in Ukraine in 2012 by Susanna Radimovskaya.
The next who joined the band was Alex (Guitar) and Elijah (Keyboards) and after some time and auditions of musicians joined Eugene (bass). Then they had different drummers, but last, and we hope the final, who joined us was Max (drums). He became our brother in May 2021.
The band released 2 albums: Follow Me and Revival of Glam, one single “Come On Baby” and seven videos.
Our Follow Me album was recorded in 2015 year in our hometown Chernivtsi. After it, the band started to search for a label to work with, after a couple of months of searching they found “Rock Avenue Records USA,” a label based in the USA. Susanna and Alex went to the USA to sign up a contract with them and give some interviews on radios. After that, SC started to work on the second album called Revival of Glam which was released in 2017. With these two albums, SC started their tours by Europe in such countries as Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia, Italy and recording videos.

Star Crystal believes that music is a friend that always shares your mood and disposition. They wish to share their music with the world and believe that their music will open your feelings. They are looking to explore the realms of how everyone expresses and feels music without losing the feeling that courses through your veins when you hear music played.
We sat down for a short, but fun Q&A session with Star Crystal lead vocalist Susanna Radimovskaya.
Every superhero or villain has an origin and a band is no different minus the radioactive spiders and secret government experiments. What is the origin of Star Crystal?
Susanna Radimovskaya/Star Crystal: I really wanted to play my own songs and express my feelings in them, I suggested Alex (guitarist) form a band,
Me and he weren’t enough, so we started looking for guys, and we found some who were willing to do anything for each other. The next one to join the band was Elijah (keyboards), and after some time and auditioning musicians, Eugene (bass) joined. Then we had different drummers, but the last, and we hope the last one to join us was Max (drums). He became our brother in May 2021.
Band names can have a meaning or they can be a name pulled out of a hat. What’s the story behind Star Crystal?
The band name came out when we decided to join the name of rich and expensive champagne Crystal and word rockstar. We think this name really sounds and combines the soul and style of rock music from the ’80s. We love this music from our childhood, that is why we play this style and what inspired us to create a such name for our band.
What are you currently working on?
We work on many things at the same time. We are building our recording studio, creating a new album, and planning our tour of Europe in Spring 2023. The studio is finished by 90%, and the album already has seven created songs, so I think our fans will see in near future our new album. Some of the songs we already played on our tours.
Who was your first celebrity crush?
My first crush was Scorpions; at school discos their song “Wind of Change” made a lot of people kiss.
Do you have any tattoos? Does it have any meaning behind it?
I have only one tattoo and this is the logo of my band. I didn’t want to do any tattoos but I made only this one because the band means for me everything. We are family forever till the end.
