Nickelback’s Get Rollin’ Tour made a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 14, 2023 at a packed Coastal Credit Union Music Park. I always tell all of my photographers to get there early and photograph all of the bands, whether you’re familiar with them or not. You show them the same respect as you do the headliner. I will admit that I was not familiar with Brantley Gilbert before this show. I could tell by the pictures that I saw online from this tour that his show was going to be a high energy one. He hit the stage to “Kick It In The Sticks” and the amazing light show that he was using immediately grabbed your attention because it was massive . There are a lot of bodies all over the stage as his band contained five other people and they are all over the stage. You knew right from the start that this just wasn’t a concert, this was going to be a party! Brantley has some serious guns on him and he looks as if he could easily be a wrestler in the WWE. The man is very captivating and is quite a presence on the stage. He doesn’t just command, he owns it. All of a sudden, there was pyro! Huge flames shooting up in the air as if I was at a KISS concert! His band sounded absolutely amazing! The energy on-stage was at an incredibly high level and that is infectious if you’re in the audience. Then, the more pumped up a crowd gets, the performers on stage feed off of that. Basically, it went full circle and everyone was on their feet and having a great time. Songs like “The Weekend” and “My Kinda Party” feed into that energy cycle and keep it going. Once they left the stage, they must have collapsed when they got backstage because they left the audience out of breath and damn near exhausted. I have to admit that I had such a fun time during their set and I am now a member of the Brantley Gilbert family because he, along with his amazing band, made me a fan for life. I highly suggest you go catch these guys whether they’re opening up for someone or headlining.
