On November 27th, World Wrestling Entertainment brought their illustrious Monday Night RAW to Nashville, Tennessee. After an explosive Survivor Series: War Games, the entire WWE was teeming with anticipation to see the aftermath and the ever surprising returns of multiple superstars, including the legendary CM PUNK and Randy Orton. RAW’s night started with Randy Orton on the mic talking about how good it felt to be back and that when Cody called him about War Games he felt it was an honor to add to his list of accolades. Soon after Rhea Ripley interrupts Randy saying that War Games was just “a bump in the road because The Judgement Day is dripping with gold.” Orton got the last laugh as he quipped back, “Mami this and mami that, well guess what, daddy’s back.” Orton was then attacked by JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio, setting up a match for Orton and Mysterio later in the night. After this we see more from R Truth’s return as he speaks with Nashville’s own Jelly Roll. The first match of the night started with Tag Team Turmoil, a match in which multiple tag teams fought to be the number one contender of the Undisputed Tag Team Title. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasa Ciampa) started the match, eliminating Alpha Academy (Akira Tozawa and Otis) before being eliminated by The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed). The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) entered and were eliminated by pinfall from The Creed Brothers. Next came Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) who were also eliminated by The Creed Brothers securing their win and shot at the tag team title. The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes then comes out to thank the Nashville crowd and talk about his team’s win at War Games. During the promo, Shinsuke Nakamura interrupted via the tron as the lights went down. After Nakamura’s video ended the lights shot back on and it turns out that he was behind Rhodes the whole time, surprising him with red mist to the face. The next match was a faceoff between Bronson Reed vs. Ivar leading to a double count out ending. Both men brawled on the outside and even fought in the crowd as several stage crew tried to stop them, one crewman was even used as a weapon. After another video promo with R-Truth, we got Nia Jax vs. Zoey Stark. A great women’s match that ended with a Banzai Drop and Jax securing the victory. We then were graced with Seth Rollins drew presence as he came out to show off the title belt and speak about the recent news of CM Punk returning. About this time Drew McIntyre enters to shake the hand of Rollins. Rollins then lets McIntyre know that it won’t be him fighting for the title but instead Jey Uso. This news landed Rollins a firm headbutt from McIntyre. While the two scuffled Jey Uso came out to help the heavyweight champion, taking down McIntyre with a joint superkick from Rollins and Uso. Afterwards, we got to see a Women’s tag team title match between Chelsea Green & Piper Niven and Natalya & Tegan Nox. There were a lot of high flying moves in this match that ended by pinfall via a cross body from Niven on Nox, retaining the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship belt. The next match was special as the newly returned Randy Orton faced off against “Dirty” Dominic Mysterio. A lot of the action happened outside the ring as Orton was tossed into the steel steps eventually returning the favor by putting Mysterio through the announcer’s table via a back suplex. Randy even had the help of Jelly Roll ringside as Roll shoved Mysterio while they shouted back and forth. Upon returning to the ring, Orton gave a nasty Hanging DDT before receiving a beautiful 619 from Mysterio, ultimately ending the match with a heinous RKO of which the crowd was craving to see. Then it happened, the moment the entire WWE Universe has waited 10 years to see. The return of CM Punk. His entrance music started and the crowd went absolutely crazy! Starting his promo, Punk said, “it looks like hell froze over.” A perfect way to describe how rare of an event we were witnessing. I have never heard a louder pop for a wrestler than last night. Punk said that he was happy to be back after all this time and appreciated the undying support from people over the years. He ended his promo by looking into the camera and saying “I’m not here to make friends; I’m here to make money.”
