Earlier this year when Collective Soul and +Live+ first announced The Summer Unity Tour, we were so excited. This marked the first time in years these 2 bands would tour together. As 2 of the biggest rock/alternative bands to come out of the 90’s seeing them on stage together would be a huge treat. The Summer Unity Tour got started back on July 8th, opening the tour in Auburn, WA. Since then, the 2 bands have been circling the U.S. playing to huge crowds everywhere they go.

The tour is set to close later this week on August 29th in Grantville, PA. We were so stoked to catch this incredible tour on one of their Carolina stops. The bands hit up Greensboro, NC earlier this month. The show was originally scheduled at White Oak Amphitheater, but when a storm was on its way, the bands and venue worked hard together to get the show moved indoors. It was really awesome and showed true professionalism to make sure the show goes on and fans would still be able to attend.

When we arrived at Greensboro Coliseum Events Center there was already a line of fans waiting anxiously to run inside. While there were seats, most of the venue had an open general admission floor and fans were already filling in to get to the front. What I really noticed though was there was not a single bad spot in that house. The room is wide and open, making space for everyone to fit in easily and just hang out and enjoy the show.

That night Greylin James Rue got the show started with a small opening set that really had the crowd excited for the rest of the bands to come. Our Lady Peace hit the stage next, bringing tons of hits in their 45-minute set. Everyone in the crowd, including us, was already singing along to every single track.

Since Collective Soul and +Live+ are co-headlining the tour, they also alternate which band officially plays last each night. As it turns out, it doesn’t even matter what order they play in. They both put up 2 incredible headline sets each night spanning their careers and absolutely loaded with hit after hit after hit. Everyone was up dancing and singing all through the night.
