Dark Angel released their first album in 34 years. Extinction Level Event, their 5th studio album, dropped on September 5, 2025. To coincide with it’s release, Dark Angel set out on a full North American Tour. The Extinction Level Event tour began on September 5th in San Diego, CA and is set to wrap up on October 16th ending in Los Angeles, CA.
We were so excited for the opportunity to catch this incredible tour recently when it rolled into Hangar 1819 in Greensboro, NC. This show was originally scheduled for the night before in Charlotte, but when it got canceled at the last minute, the bands all pulled together to make sure it still happened for the fans. With only 3 days to get ready, the bands had a new show scheduled on a new day in a different venue in a different city. That could be a disaster for any tour, but you know what happened? These metalheads still showed up in support of all the bands on the lineup.
VOID got the show started that night and were followed by a couple of legendary metal bands in their own right, HIRAX and Sacred Reich. After 3 full sets of headbanging, this crowd still wasn’t ready to stop. Dark Angel finally hit the stage and they absolutely crushed it with a huge set including all of our favorite tracks from way back and still included some new stuff too. It was perfect! Check out some photos from their set that night taken by I’m Music Magazine Photographer Daphne McKinney.
