Moldovan Metal Band Infected Rain release their live performance, The Devil’s Dozen on DVD/Blu Ray and 2 CD Digipak on April 14, 2023, on Napalm Records. The Devil’s Dozen was an exclusive live stream performance that was only available for eight days in support of the release of their 2022 album Ecdysis. Formed in 2008 the band is one of the fiercest in metal. Singer Lena Scissorhands, Guitarists Vidick and Sergey, Bassist Vladimir, and Drummer Eugene put on an incredible, dynamic performance allowing the fans a front-and-center view of the show.
The 22-song, 98-minute performance showcases the band’s 15-year career with their popular songs “Orphan Soul”, “Black Gold” and “Mold.” The song “Pendulum” from 2019’s album Endorphin kicks off with Lena’s furious growls and unrelenting, aggressive metal. Lena commands the stage with her impeccable vocal range going from metal screams to soaring vocals in the chorus.
The band is captivating to watch and one of the highlights is their performance of “Enslaved by A Dream” from 2014’s Embrace Eternity. Starting with a hypnotic guitar riff then without warning hits the viewer with crushing, metal guitars, driving bass lines, and drums accompanied by a trippy light show.
“Peculiar Kind of Sanity” from 2016’s 86 is a highlight with the mesmerizing light show as Lena’s extreme metal vocals go into a beautiful, ethereal chorus as she sings, “So take me! Take me far. Where the skies embrace a star.”
The performance ends with “Taphephobia” from Endorphin which is ruthless in its aggression and is extreme metal at its finest. As Lena screams her pain, “All that is left in this disordered mind, Is rage, rage for the dying light”, the band’s electric guitar riffs drift off and end the performance.
Infected Rain gives a ferocious, high-caliber performance in The Devil’s Dozen and shows beyond a doubt why they are one of the hardest metal bands in the scene. Their powerful lyrics, non-stop energy, Lena’s powerhouse vocals, and the band’s incredible musicianship make them a captivating band to watch.
