Earth Wind & Fire And Chicago Time Warp Raleigh, NC Back To The 70's & 80's

Two legendary acts on one bill! The iconic Earth Wind & Fire along with fellow icons Chicago made a stop at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 12, 2024. It was a stop on their highly successful Heart & Soul Tour 2024. The two acts have been performing for a combined total of over 100 years. That’s a lot of time out on the road not to mention a ton of hits. The night promised to be one of looking back at good times and celebrating, singing , dancing and maybe even a few tears of happiness. Earth Wind & Fire kicked off the evening with “Shining Star.” That set the mood right there as people were already in the aisles dancing. The harmonies were rich throughout their entire set that included such classics as “September,” ” Let’s Groove” and “Serpentine Fire.”

After a brief change over, Chicago hit the stage and their classic horn section was in true form. “Saturday in the Park,” “You’re The Inspiration” and If You Leave Me Now” were just a few of their classics that were included in their long setlist. After their set and a brief break, both bands returned to the stage and packed it out. Then the bands performed a six song encore where they took turns playing a classic of the other band but did so together as one big group. “25 or 6 to 4” and “Sing a Song” were just two of the classics that they played together. If you were wondering how the two bands jelled together, let me assure you that it was absolutely amazing! I am so glad that I was able to cover this show and not only hear so many hits but see so much genuine talent on one stage. A full setlist follows each band’s setlist.
