Boston rock band, Girl with a Hawk released its debut EP, keep ‘er lit, on December 8th via Rum Bar Records. Singer Linda Viens says, “I guess I would say that keep ‘er lit is exploring what it means to not just choose to go on, but to thrive and do right by those that depend on us. It’s about the sheer guts it takes to LIVE and keep your heart open.”

The five-song EP is a fun mix of modern rock and Americana with engaging storytelling.

The first track, “The Romantic,” has a modern rock vibe, reminiscent of Pretenders. Lively guitars combined with Linda’s strong vocals make this a standout on the EP.

“The Ones” is an introspective song about friendships. As upbeat guitars play, Linda sings, “All, the people that I’ve met and all, the friends I won’t forget. But the ones who put me to the test, I love the best.”

The EP concludes with “Good Enough,” a fun, energetic anthem with horns and Linda’s dynamic vocals. This song will start a lot of sing-a-longs at the band’s show.

Girl with a Hawk’s keep ‘er lit mix of modern rock, new wave, and early 90’s rock influences is engaging, and the band’s musical career will be a fun one to keep listening to.
