This year Everclear is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 4th studio album ‘Songs From An American Movie Vol. I’ The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and spawned hits such as “AM Radio” and “Wonderful.” It’s also being released on vinyl for the first time ever. Plus, the band set out on a huge fall headline tour.

The tour, which began on September 13th in San Francisco, CA is set to run through November 2nd, ending in Porterville, CA. Everclear will not only be fully circling the U.S. on this massive tour, they brought along some great bands to accompany them. Marcy Playground and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack have been performing on all dates of the tour. We were excited to catch this incredible line up live for one of those dates.

Back on September 29th, the tour rolled into The Ramkat located in Winston-Salem, NC. Everclear fully packed The Ramkat that night playing for the huge sold-out crowd in attendance. Jimmie’s Chicken Shack started out the night with a fun, high energy set. Vocalist, Jimi HaHa, not only had the crowd singing along, but laughing at some jokes between songs.

When Marcy Playground hit the stage, the band went straight into “Poppies” off of their 1997 self-titled debut. Vocalist, John Wozniak, also introduced Scot Alexander (Dishwalla) who would be filling in on bass for a few nights. Marcy Playground played an awesome 12-song set that night, which included inviting Jimi HaHa back on stage to sing during “Sherry Fraser.”

Everclear finally hit the stage right at 9pm. The band came out and dove straight into the title track off their 3rd studio album, “So Much For The Afterglow.” It amazes me how much energy Everclear still puts into every single concert they play. Also, how much gratitude the band has towards their fans. Vocalist, Art Alexakis, could be found not just thanking the crowd, but really having a conversation with everyone and making them feel welcome and included. It’s an awesome thing. Everclear played loads of hits for the crowd that night, a lot of tracks off of Songs From An American Movie, and a few little surprises. The crowd loved every second of it.
