Halestorm and I Prevail kicked off their North America Summer 2024 tour in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 9 at a packed Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek. The temp was in the upper 90s and the humidity level was through the roof! You pray that everyone at the show is wearing deodorant on an evening like this. You don’t have to do anything but stand there and sweat starts pouring everywhere!

The traffic flow was a little slow coming in as Fit For A King took to the stage. The band started experiencing technical difficulties right at the beginning of their song “Keeping Secrets.” They stopped and took a few minutes to get everything corrected and then re-started the song. The rest of their set rocked without any issues. Their set may have been short in quantity at 30 minutes, but it was long in quality because they rocked! Hollywood Undead was up next and the stage was swarming with members of the band. There was action all over the stage as they kicked off with “California Dreaming.” The energy was completely different than what Fit For A King killed it with. The rap/rock band took turns taking over lead on different songs. They even did a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” This was a thoroughly entertaining set and exhausting as well!

Lzzy Hale and Halestorm were up next. Fresh off of her stint as fill-in lead singer for Skid Row, it was time to take the mic with the band that she founded as a teenager. Lzzy came out and did a small acapella part of “Raise Your Horns” before she and the guys launched into “I Miss The Misery.” It’s tough to cover everyone’s Halestorm favorites in a 60 minute set. It was a tight set with very little stage banter in between each song. The only pause, if you even consider it as one, was when Arejay got his drum solo complete with over-sized drumsticks! Lzzy always sounds great but he voice seemed stronger than ever! After their set, it was time for I Prevail to close the night out. Their set started with “There’s Fear in Letting Go.” Yes, they included their awesome cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” Lzzy even joined them for their new single “can you see me in the dark?”

What a killer show! I mean from beginning to end, it was packed damn solid! It’s interesting how each band brought their own form of energy to their set. It seemed as if the only negative that I heard as we were leaving in the huge herd of people was that the sets were short, thus leaving fans clamoring for more! This is a do not miss tour if they are coming through or near to your town. Even if you think you’re not into one of the bands on the bill, they will win you over by the end of their set!
