On May 1, 2026, Godsmack released a double live album, Live at Mohegan Sun. This was recorded live on October 24, 2024 and features members Sully Erna, Tony Rombola, Shannon Larkin, and Robbie Merrill. I think we all had some big feelings when both Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin decided to retire from Godsmack. However, I can only imagine the kind of toll it takes on a person who is constantly touring. I’m never personally going to get mad over someone deciding to retire. I am super excited about this double live album, it was such a great event and really a huge gift to the fans who want to remember this version of the band they love.
Now, the biggest upside? The band isn’t gone, Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill have continued to tour. In fact, you can catch them all over the U.S. this summer and fall on The Rise of Rock Tour. They brought along Wade Murff and Sam Koltun to play live on this tour. Also, Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy have been opening up on every date thus far. The songs we love? We still get to hear them live, and that’s always a great time.
I was super excited for the chance to catch the tour pretty early when they rolled into Coastal Credit Union Music Park in Raleigh, NC back on May 16th. Godsmack treated fans to a HUGE 17-song set that night that included so many favorites, including “When Legends Rise,” Straight Out of Line,” “Voodoo”, and “Bulletproof.” The list goes on, this was not just a tiny set. Godsmack rocked the place with hit after hit after hit and it was amazing. Check out some live pics from their set below and have a peek at that new double live album, you’re gonna love it!
