This week, GWAR will be wrapping up The Stoned Age Tour. The tour, which began on October 17th in Las Vegas, NV is set to wrap up on November 20th in Nashville, TN. The band brought along special guests Dark Funeral, Cancer Bats, and Squid Pisser to open up on various dates of the tour.
We were stoked to catch GWAR live when they recently hit up The Ritz in Raleigh, NC. GWAR played to a packed house full of thrilled fans on November 10th. The band brought along Squid Pisser and Cancer Bats to open up the show, who had no problems getting an already rowdy crowd even more excited. When it was time for GWAR to finally take the stage, we saw a sea of white t-shirts all along the front of the pit. This crowd was ready to get drenched and get some sweet souvenirs all at the same time.
The lights went down and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” started playing in the background. Just as the first lights flickered on the stage, out walked Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, who received an array of cheers and boos from the crowd. The real cheering began when GWAR came out, diving straight into “El Presidente” as the first bloodbath of the night ensued.
GWAR played a huge 18-song set that night and everyone stuck around all the way ’til the end. They were of course rewarded by more special guests appearing on stage as well as all the blood and guts being thrown out any one can stand. And everyone loved it. Check out some live pics from their set that night below.
