Megadeth’s Destroy All Enemies Tour rolled into Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7, 2024 for a stop at the Coastal Credit Union Amphitheater at Walnut Creek. All That Remains opened the show with a strong set followed by a banging performance by Mudvayne. Dave Mustaine and Megadeth hit the stage about 9:00 and covered material from quite a few of their albums in their 90-minute set. A total of ten albums were tapped into during their setlist with Countdown to Extinction getting the most attention with four cuts. If you’ve ever seen Megadeth live, then you know Mustaine is not a flashy performer. He may walk around a bit, but he prefers to let the music do the talking. As for the rest of the band, they were the polar opposite. The band was tight and blazed through song after song with minimal talking between each one. Mustaine sounded like Mustaine and he gave a solid Mustaine performance. He sounded great although his long mane of hair covered his face for most of the performance making it hard to see him. It seems like it would make it hard for him to see as well. The band rocked it and came back for not one, but two encores! If you missed this show, you missed a damn good one!
