Iron Maiden is celebrating their 50th anniversary with the Run For Your Lives World Tour. Leg one of the tour started in May 2026. We were so excited when Iron Maiden announced the North American leg of the tour earlier this year. This brings the band to 12 select U.S. and Canada cities. They also announced thrash metal legends Megadeth and Anthrax to open up for them on select dates. This tour quickly sold out with fans traveling from all around just to catch these bands live.
You can’t even imagine the excitement when we were given the opportunity to catch this incredible tour this past weekend when it rolled into Truliant Amphitheater in Charlotte, NC. For this date, Megadeth was set to open. What started out as a sunny day turned into rain just before the show was set to start. While the venue is partially covered, a huge portion is uncovered. I have to mention this because we received a torrential downpour during this show and I really wasn’t seeing people fleeing. What did I see? Thousands of fans either with their ponchos on or just happily hanging out and headbanging away for the entire show! It was such an incredible sight to see indeed!
Megadeth of course had no problems getting the crowd quickly pumped up, you really can’t go wrong when you have two legendary bands on the lineup. Iron Maiden hit the stage and gave fans a huge two hour set including seventeen songs! Each track not only brought you back but was accompanied by theatrics and included a huge 3-d screen playing in the back taking you into each and every story. It’s truly amazing seeing a band perform a show this level after 50 years. I don’t know of any artist who can compare to the show you’ll get when you see Iron Maiden live. It’s exactly why each show sells out and fans continue traveling the globe just to see them live.
