Lynyrd Skynyrd kicked off the Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour with ZZ Top on July 21, 2023 in West Palm Beach, Florida at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre. Mother Nature may have tried to intervene, but the power and rock and roll won out! Skynyrd is now without any original members after the death of its last surviving original member Gary Rossington earlier this year. The band issued this statement: “The current members of the band, led by Johnny Van Zant, the singer for the past 36 years, were unsure if they would continue following Gary’s untimely passing. After much discussion with the band, the families of Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, and Dale Rossington, the collective has reached unified support, and feel that continuing to perform LIVE, and keeping the music alive, is in the best interest of the fans and everyone involved.”

That’s exactly what they did! The setlist covered all of the bases when it comes to a Skynyrd show and the band even paid tribute to its fallen brothers. I’m Music Magazine Photographer Mary Trujillo was there and brought back these kick-ass photos of the band in action!
