Chad Russell, better known as MAD CHAD, out of Lubbock, TX., is a heavy metal recording artist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, drums and piano. He is also a Berklee College of Music Master’s Song Writer. MAD CHAD has a new single and video, “The Edge of Freedom”, out now with a clear message that definitely makes you think.
MAD CHAD says, “I wrote, “The Edge of Freedom”, about our Nation’s Southern border crisis. I used facts and key points that have occurred during the past administration’s occupancy to shape the lyrics and key points of the music. I was inspired to write the song when I heard that our administration was simply ignoring the Southern border issues and allowing so many terrible things to transpire while this mass immigration is occurring.”
Right is RIGHT! is MAD CHAD’S latest record that is a “waterfall” release, dropping a new single every Thursday that began on August 29, 2024, and continued until October 17, 2024, when the full-length album dropped. MAD CHAD decided to offer his release to his fans in a way that allows everyone a chance to process the music and the album artwork. Also, the artwork for, Right is RIGHT! is also themed in Red, White, and Blue, as the release come out in the order of the colors.
When MAD CHAD was a kid, his parents provided him with an amazing music collection and access to music lessons. Because of this, he found great bands and artists that have been a big influence in his life including Pantera, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, Monte Montgomery, Van Halen, Metallica and more. MAD CHAD loves the passion these artists put into their compositions, and it resonates with his soul.
MAD CHAD has recently been getting his next record ready for release in the Spring of 2025. He is very proud of the music he has made, and excited to share it with the world. He enjoys playing live and plans on doing so to support his latest release Right is RIGHT!
