Mapping The Sky is led by Norman, Oklahoma, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Jordin Swanson, when asked about the new song Swanson explains, “I like the juxtaposition between the hard-hitting, angry guitar tones and the lyrical message which is comforting in its way, you don’t need to be perfect, or famous, or rich, or fit in anyplace. Just be your authentic self.”

“Just Like Me” is the follow-up to the band’s debut song “Get Up Kid,” about the song Big Takeover said, “it’s nice to stumble across an artist, particularly one working in rock environs, who understands the power of groove,” and Dancing About Architecture says, “squalling guitars and juggernaut grooves, a wall of noise sonic salvo, and plenty of anthemic artistry”.

At its core, Mapping The Sky delivers an edgy hybrid of melody, rhythm, rock, and message. “When I’m in a dark place, I always retreat into music and listen to my favorite songs,” Swanson says. “I want to write songs that connect.
