Meet Mark Tremonti. Grammy Award-winning, multiplatinum musician…check. Guitarist extraordinaire for Alter Bridge and Creed…yep. Frank Sinatra sound-alike, super-smooth Christmas crooner…wow, just wow!
The uncanny transformation began last year when Tremonti, accompanied by surviving members of Sinatra’s band as well as other top-notch players, cut 14 classics for the album, Tremonti Sings Sinatra. From the first note out of Mark’s mouth, the band knew they weren’t dealing with just another Sinatra wannabe!
Proceeds from the sales of the album were gifted to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) as part of Mark’s new organization, Take A Chance For Charity, and in honor of his daughter, Stella, who was born in 2021 with Down syndrome. Stella had a heart operation just nine months after her birth and has a constant need for physical therapy.
After the success of his interpretation of the songs Frank Sinatra made famous, Mark decided to partner once again with the orchestra on this spectacular new holiday album. In Christmas Classics New & Old, Tremonti showcases the music that was the bedrock of his (and many of our) childhood holidays.
“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Jingle Bells,” O Holy Night.” We all know the songs, but it’s Mark’s rich, baritone vocal that will give you more chills than a fridged December wind!
A standout track on the album is an original holiday composition called “Christmas Morning.” Painting a vivid picture of the glory and magic of Christmas morning, this song begs to be included in your favorite holiday playlist.
Other Christmas standards including “The First Noel,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” and “Let It Snow” are also included on the ten-song album. Mark’s voice is smooth as silk as he puts his own spin on Frank’s unmistakable tone and style.
Mark’s hard rock/heavy metal contemporaries are equally amazed at his sonic prowess. Metallica guitarist, Kirk Hammett said, “Holy shit, I knew Mark was a ripping guitar player but no way did I ever have a notion that he had golden pipes as well! Totally blown away, totally into it, let’s hear more, Mark!”
Listening to these beautiful classics will melt the heart of the grinchiest Grinch you know. If you need a little nudge to get into the Christmas spirit this year, do yourself a favor and pick up Christmas Classics New & Old.
And remember, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
