Maxwell’s  “The Night Tour” made a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Red Hat Amphitheater on October 7. It was a Friday night and the venue was packed with people ready to de-stress after a long week at work. It was a fashion show as some people were in suits and ties, others in dresses with lots of accessories and some just dressed very casually. Maxwell has been delivering the goods for almost 30 years now and the guy doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The house lights went down, his band entered the stage, starting playing an instrumental intro and the crowd started to rise to their feet, especially the women. The screams of “I love you Maxwell” started to cry out, even before he stepped onto the stage. The volume went up to at least 12 when he stepped onto the stage. His voice is still amazing and he can still go from a growl to his falsetto in a blink of an eye. He would stop singing at times and let the audience finish the lyric. He would then flash that smile of his that makes the audience scream and yell. It was a night of great songs that bring back great memories. It may have been a temporary escape from all the stress going on in everyone’s lives, but it was a damn good escape.
