Less than 24 hours removed from delivering an amazing set at The Totally Tubular Festival show in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 13, 2024, the band was still hanging around town. If you’re wondering why, well that’s because the guys had an in-store signing scheduled at Schoolkids Records in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 2:00. The band had advertised that they were going to be signing copies of their new album 1 2 3 4. The Totally Tubular Festival show was outside at the Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh and it was extremely hot and humid for the majority of the show. The guys, along with everyone else, were not fans of the horrendous humidity at the show, much less the heat. Another day in Raleigh meant more of the same, but this event was going to be indoors in the A/C.
The guys arrived right before 2:00 and the signing started at 2:00 on the dot. How about that? Punctual rock stars! A long line had already been forming long before the signing was scheduled to begin and by 2:00 it was snaking around the main racks in the center of the floor. The guys were seated on stools behind a long white table where they had their fancy sharpies laying, ready to begin the signing. The guys all spoke to each person who approached the table and asked many if they attended the show the night before. After signing the copy of the new release, the fan got to go behind the table and take a picture with the entire band. The band’s tour manager Michelle Peters put on one of her many hats that she wears and acted as photographer for the event taking pictures for the fans. Some fans even brought copies of the band’s older albums to get signed as well. As the band finished up with one fan, another two walked in the main door.
There were several people who made the signing who went to the show the night before. There were even Totally Tubular Festival shirts on three fans that were there. When you looked around the store, all you saw were smiling faces. The band made a lot of fans incredibly happy the night before at the concert, but the level of happiness at this signing was on a whole new plateau. The signing wrapped up shortly after 3:00 and the band was ready to take off and watch the Euro Cup Final with Spain versus England. A big thanks to Schoolkids Records in Raleigh, North Carolina for holding this awesome event. Also, a big thanks to Modern English for not only a great set at the concert but for staying an extra day and doing such a fun filled signing.
