Myles Kennedy released his 3rd studio album, The Art of Letting Go, on October 11, 2024 via Napalm Records. You can currently catch Myles Kennedy on The Art of Letting Go Tour. The tour, which began on January 17, 2025 in Joliet, IL is set to run all the way through February 21, 2025 wrapping up in Spokane, WA. He’s also brought along special guests, Tim Montana and Sons of Silver to open up every show through out this tour.
We were so excited for the opportunity to check out this tour when all of the bands rolled into Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC on January 31st. Neighborhood Theatre is an independent live music venue located in the NoDa, which is Charlotte’s historic art district. The venue has a rich history which you can see just entering through the doors. When you make it to the stage area, it’s open with mostly standing room viewing, but gives such an intimate feel to every performance. When we arrived at the venue there was already a line forming down the street waiting for doors to open. Even the rain didn’t seem to deter any fans from waiting it out, they were all excited to get inside.
This venue was packed by the time Myles Kennedy hit the stage that night and fans were excitedly cheering when he walked out right at 9:00 pm. Myles grabbed his guitar and launched immediately into “The Art of Letting Go”, which is of course the title track off his latest release. Myles Kennedy treated the audience to a huge 16-track set that night. His set mostly consisted of tracks from his 3 solo releases. Quite a bit from his latest, which we were pretty excited to hear the first time live. He did slow it down for a short acoustic set which included “Starlight” (by Slash feat. Myles Kennedy) and “Watch Over You” (Alter Bridge).
