On August 8, 1978, AC/DC played a radio show in Nashville for record executives and was broadcast through WKDF. Bon Scott starts this show by yelling, “quiet are we? Well, we’ll change that!” This same exact energy was brought by Noise Pollution The Music of AC/DC as they shook the foundations of the Basement East. Noise Pollution is made up of legends such as Andy Bowman (Big Gun/Hells Bells) as Bon/Brian vocals, Adam Shoenfeld (Tim Magraw guitarist and producer) as Angus, Jason Mowery (Shania Twain guitarist) as Malcolm, Victor Brodén (LeAnn Rimes, Host of The Lowdown Society Podcast) as Cliff Williams and Travis McNabb (Better Than Ezra drummer) as Rudd/Slade. The set started with a cut house music and darkness as a man with a bagpipe starts walking near the center of the pit as he is playing alone. As a die hard AC/DC fan, it was a chilling moment because you knew how much energy was about to drop down on us. It was a site to see the band bounce back and forth flawlessly between Bon Scott and Brian Johnson era songs. Andy makes it look easy as he effortlessly fills the shoes of both legends. The guitar and bass tones were five star and you could notice the little things like bends and stops that came straight off the album. One thing that I love so much about AC/DC are the harmonies and chanting style backing vocals, and Noise Pollution delivered with the lush but gritty choruses. Go see these guys if you ever get the chance; powerhouse players with an eye for detail and energy. Electric Python opened the show, a band that reminded me of Megadeth if they wrote music with The Sword. Very loud, very sick. Definitely a birthday show to remember for this AC/DC fan.
