Alternative rockers NOVEMBER GIRL’s first single since last Summer’s “No Crying in Baseball,” “Spiders” shows the band’s growth in playing together, realizing their sound, and creating something that truly rocks. Leading us into their upcoming EP Heart Prayer (to be released mid/late August 2024), “‘Spiders’ is about the feeling of having said too much, done too much – you feel like everyone’s staring at you. You’re the ‘fantasy pony at the school’. You wonder how some people seem to be so calm, cool, and collected, while you simply can’t seem to keep your mouth shut or your sh*t together,” lead singer Willa shares. Together 3 years, the band has matured and is ready to put out more music – they’ve become the best of friends, and it shows in their musical chemistry.

The new single from November Girl, produced by Grant Lepping (Comet’s Two-Winged), “Spiders” pumps and jumps through the bloodstream, with lead singer Willa Rudolph’s vocals soft and steady throughout. Lush with an extremely catchy and gritty guitar riff, and the bass and drums driving the track along with force, the revivalist sound of 90’s and 2000’s metal shining through. But the vocals are performed in a feminine, talky drone. The drums, guitar, and bass create a washy purgatory that the listener can burrow into.

The music video (directed by friend and collaborator Sofia Zarzuela, with whom Willa is also throwing the Mud Wrestling show), shows Willa at a party, wreaking havoc with her bandmates, until we flash forward to a car ride the next day, where she is gravely regretting her behavior. In her mind, she is jumping out of the car, running away, and expressing what she’s feeling inside ferociously, and later trashing her room and going mental – but on the outside, she is composed in the middle seat.

November Girl has a distinctly 90’s feel, with sounds reminiscent of The Breeders, Smashing Pumpkins, and No Doubt. However, they are entirely unique among the influx of 90’s-inspired music, with their insane and dynamic guitar melodies, funky punk bass lines, militaristically tight drums, and poetic, feminine lyrics.

The NYC alternative rock band is slated to release an EP entitled Heart Prayer in mid/late August 2024.

November Girl is Willa Rudolph (singer/guitar), Billy Flanagan (lead guitar), Dylan Davis (bass), and Philip Brand (drums).
