Legendary death metal band Obituary released their long-awaited 11th studio album, Dying Of Everything, on January 11, 2023 via Relapse Records. They’re currently on their North American Headline Tour where they have brought along Immolation, Blood Incantation, and Ingrown. We were stoked to catch night 1 of this incredible tour when they hit up The Underground at The Fillmore Charlotte on April 28, 2023.
There was a pretty big line of fans waiting to get in the venue already when we arrived that night and while the show wasn’t completely sold-out, it was still pretty packed with excited fans by the time the bands started playing. Every band was amazing and the fans there kept getting more excited as the night went on. When Obituary finally hit the stage, the crowd definitely erupted. We immediately were seeing a slew of fans crowd surfing to the front, and later in the night, witnessed the single biggest circle pit we’ve ever seen take place as this venue! Awesome! Obituary treated everyone to an amazing set with loads of tracks off of Dying Of Everything, plus a nice assortment of our favorite tracks spanning their 30-year plus career.
