Pantera’s “Walk” pushed the anticipation button as a frenzied crowd started chanting the lyrics…and then BOOM, the volume knob got cranked to eleven and Queensryche took the stage in full metal fashion, LOUD, playing “Queen of the Reich”. It was a “shake, rattle and roll” seismic blast as the whole arena rocked a 10.0 on the Richter scale.
The 45-minute set was fast and furious and included “Behind the Walls” from their new album Digital Noise Alliance, which was released October 7th. The highlights of the show were “Empire” from their 1990 album of the same name, “Eyes of a Stranger” and “Anarchy-X” from their 1988 album Operation Mindcrime, which concluded the show.
Singer Todd La Torre, guitarists Michael Wilton, Mike Stone, bassist Eddie Jackson and drummer Casey Grillo controlled the audience. They were the perfect openers as they built the energy and volume platform for headliner Judas Priest.
